Commission a Portrait

Someone you love, painted the way I paint. Not a likeness traced from a photograph, but a portrait built the way every face in this shop is built: ink, colour, pattern, and the thing sitting underneath the expression.

Most of what I am asked for is two people. A friendship, a couple, two sisters, a mother and a daughter. The Friendship collection began exactly this way, and those are the paintings people keep returning to, because a portrait of a bond says something that a photograph of two faces cannot.

Tell me who they are and what they are like to be around. That matters more to the painting than how closely it resembles them.

How a commission works

  1. Choose your size above and place the order.
  2. Within two days I will email you to collect photographs and a few words about the person or the pair.
  3. I send you a sketch. If it is not right, I redraw it. If you decide not to continue at this stage, you are refunded in full.
  4. I paint. Three to four weeks for one figure, four to six weeks for two.
  5. Your painting is signed, documented and shipped worldwide.
