Shorouq Shabsoug is an abstract figurative artist whose work explores the interplay between form, emotion and the human experience. Through a dynamic fusion of abstraction and figuration, she creates evocative compositions that challenge traditional representations of the human form, inviting viewers to engage with the raw essence of identity, memory and connection.

She lives and works in Sydney, Australia. Drawing inspiration from world narratives, cultures and artistic movements, Shorouq works in mixed media (mostly acrylic colours and inks) on canvas and paper. Her surfaces are densely patterned and highly detailed, built up in layers of colour, line and texture.

Each piece is a testament to her ability to balance spontaneity and intention, resulting in works that are both deeply personal and universally resonant.

Beginnings

Shorouq has loved art since she was six, encouraged by parents who believed in her talent and mentored by teachers who nurtured her use of colour, media and texture. Those years shaped the technical command her work rests on today. Alongside her painting she holds a bachelor's degree in Pharmacy, and studies and works in the pharmaceutical industry. One life asks for exact measures. The other asks for none at all.
